Fresh Start {{Ipsy January 2015}}

It's Ipsy time again! I always love getting my pink foam mailer every month because it always holds something good. The theme this month was Fresh Start. The bag this month is quite different it is blue on one side and on the other side it is white. The zipper and the inside is a coral color. This month I got some pretty cool products but I can't wait to see what else they have in store for us in the year 2015!

Here is another picture of the bag this month. As you can see the texture is sort of a canvas feel to it instead of being smooth. I really love the blue color with the coral, it makes a good combo. I'm not really into the white side of this bag, I think the bag would be really cool if both sides were the blue.

Alright so the first product is a gel eye liner called Fantabulous by J. Cat Beauty. The shade I got is Blue Black (102F). I'm not huge into colored eye liner but I think this shade will be dark enough that it will look more black then blue. I've actually never tried a gel eye liner before so I'm pretty excited to try it out.
To purchase this product it would cost $3.99 and you can purchase it here.

Next up is Mannai Sheer Glo shimmer lotion. The shade is universal and can be used on the face and the body. When you use it on your face you can mix it with your foundation or use it alone. If you use it on your body you are supposed to mix it with another lotion. I haven't tested this product out yet but I plan to.
The only way I could find to purchase this product was to purchase the "Discovery Set" which includes other products. To purchase that set it would cost $25. You can purchase that set here.

Next product is an eye cream from Nourish Organic Renewing eye cream. The ingredients in this are avocado oil and moroccan aragan oil with shea butter. I gave this stuff a try and I don't mind the scent, it's not strong or anything. I didn't really notice too much but maybe I just need to keep using it.
To purchase this product it would cost $19.99 but was on sale at the time for $14.99 for a .5 oz container which is what we received in our Ipsy bags. To view this product click here. For that price I don't think it's something I would purchase.

Pacifica eye shadow is up next. This is their Natural Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow. Ipsy sent out two different shades of the eye shadow and I received the shade Ethereal which is a light tan shade. The shade is a perfect neutral color that can go with anything and it sort of has this nice shimmer to it.
This product cannot be purchased individually because it has to be purchased in a palette. Most of their palettes costed around $14 which you can check out here.

Lastly this is one of my favorite products. This is a fine liner brush by Real Techniques. Previous before his Ipsy bag I have never owned a brush like this so I'm glad I got this. It's in a purple color and I can't wait to give it a try on my upper eye liner. I love when I receive products that help apply makeup instead of just the makeup product itself.
This product can be purchased for $6 here.

Overall I think I got a pretty good January Ipsy bag! I can't wait to see what I am getting in the February bag. I always hate the wait though. What was your favorite product?

Rewind {{January LootCrate}}

Picture of my December LootCrate
This month I decided to write about a new subscription service that I have joined. It's more of a video gamer/nerd theme box that comes every month. This is my second box that I have received from them. I originally signed up because I collect Pop Vinyl figures and in the month of December they were going to have an exclusive one in that box. So I kept my subscription so here is what I got in my January box.
January's theme was Rewind and each month you get entered in to win their Mega Crate.

The first item is a pair of exclusive 8-Bit Glasses made by the Loot Crate Lab. The picture doesn't really show the color very well but they are an orange and black. These are just your typical type of sunglasses except pixelated.
Next is this Comic Notebook from Unemployed Philosophers Guild. It's a 60 page pocket notebook with comic book panels so that you can create your own comics. There are even stencils included so you can have conversation bubbles.

In most of the boxes (not all) they include a t-shirt in the size that you provide when you sign up. The thing I like most about these t-shirts is they don't just send a regular t-shirt. They sent me a women cut design instead of a men's t-shirt cut. This is an exclusive Voltron Blueprint t-shirt from Flophouse. It's just a black and blue shirt with this design on the front.
The little figure thing to the right is a 10-Doh! figure from Squid Kids Ink. These little figures are in the shape of the old Nintendo games. They came in many different games but I got the Alien Attack figure.

Every month they include a comic book and this month the comic book was Star Wars. These comic books come packaged so they don't get bent during shipping. In every box there is also a collectors pin that gives the month and the theme of the box. The last item in this box was a Retro Arcade Skinny Tie from the company Black Tie Geek. It's a pretty good material and it's actually pretty cute.
That's it for this month's Loot Crate. As you can see you get quite a bit of items in each month's box.
